Child Safety

Flotilla is committed to protecting children and promoting a safe online environment. This policy outlines our standards and practices to ensure child safety.

Age Restrictions

Users must be at least 13 years old to access our website or application. Users between 13 and 18 years old must obtain parental consent to use the application.

Content Moderation

Flotilla is built on the Nostr protocol, which means most content available is not hosted or controlled by us. Server administrators and media hosts are responsible to police content that they host and share.

If you discover illegal or abusive material, please report it to the administrator of the server it is hosted on, and to any relevant government agencies. If you're unable to do that, or the third-party administrator is not cooperative, please contact us.

We strictly prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and will take immediate action to remove third-party hosts serving such content.

User Safety Features

We provide an in-app mechanism which allows users to report inappropriate content or behavior to server administrators. Administrator contact information is also provided, when available.

Users should select which servers they select with care, since their privacy and safety depends on server policies. Users may also self-host their own servers if they prefer to have a high level of control over their data.

Compliance and Reporting

Our application complies with all relevant child safety laws and regulations, and we will cooperate with law enforcement agencies in cases involving child exploitation or abuse. We will designate a child safety point of contact to handle inquiries and concerns related to child safety on our platform. You can reach our team at safety@coracle.social.

By implementing these standards, we aim to create a safer decentralized social media environment for children while respecting user privacy and autonomy. We are committed to regularly reviewing and updating this policy to address emerging challenges and improve our child safety measures.
